There is a great way to enjoy local produce and buy some great handmade goods in the Black Hills.
Checkout the Market in the Park in Spearfish City Park. It is held every Saturday June through September – 9am to Noon.
You can find rugs, quilts, diamond willow walking sticks and a great selection of local produce. Visit the Hills Horizon website for details.
Remember the Rapid City Farmers Market is a great place to find local produce three days a week.
The Spearfish Farmers Market is little more than a craft show as most exhibit jam/jelly, honey, murals, craft products etc. there is VERY little produce offered. In my opinion this thing should be renamed the Spearfish Art and Craft Show. I have been several times so this is not to say my comment is based upon being in the park once or off season. Other than a couple of overgrown vegetable stands in western Spearfish about the only produce I can find here is at Safeway.
